Like the title said, an 0800 number rang my mobile and introduced themselves as Sky recruitment.
Following your application and successful assessment day in February 09 we are pleased to inform you that we can offer you a start date of October 12th.



That's exactly the phone call that I have been waiting 9 months for but it came 4 weeks too late as I started a full time job last month, Wages are very similar once Sky freebies and savings on personal transport costs are taken into consideration, But I feel I'm in a far secure role at the moment and after what seemed a long time on the phone, (not longer than 9 months tho) I had to bite the bullet and commit my future to my current employment.......

If I live to regret it then so be it.

It's been a long bumpy ride but for now it's time to get off the rollercoaster and let the next budding hopeful join the ride.

Rang them today for a change looks like its not going to happen for me still not had THE "E MAIL" yet but sounds like its coming soon really hoped for this job to happen after waiting this stupid amount of time for nothing.

Thought a company like sky would have treated its applicants with a bit of respect and caring nature
but i was wrong hope the rest of you get that call and maybe me .
Still no email but still no job offer ether.
Very poor way to run such a large company and mess with peoples lifes all to just say SORRY like that makes you feel better .
Just wish that they were honest with me from the start instead of dangling me on a string like an idiot too late now the damage has been done all for nothing .

Dont forget a new engineer could drop out, someone could get sacked so anything can and has happend, so dont give up.

Only summising but from reading other peoples posts a lot of no thank you emails have gone out.
I never received one of these so i guessed i might be above the cut off line but below the acceptance line.
This was confirmed when i got the call yesterday.

So don't let your hopes vanish, You could get a call soon as you have NOT been officially cast aside by means of email, letter or phone.......

Old proverb comes to mind.......................You can't see for looking.
Focus on other events and let the Sky situation simmer away at the back of your mind.
You could be next on the list

To some people this is just a job but to others its a chance to better things and to be proud both to yourself for being then able to provide for our familys in these tough times of little work around .

Hi guys, been a while since I've been on. Got the call 2 days ago to offer me the job and I accepted. On a good job at the moment and I've took the gamble and accepted. Just hope I made the right decision. Training starts 19th October in Crewe for ST postcode. I applied back in February when I had no work. Started working away from home in London, plumbing, 2 months ago and had forgot about Sky until Rosie from talent recourcing phoned. Will be earning half what I'm on at moment but have given it lots of thought and feel it's the right decision. If I fail, I'm back to square one, so no greater motivation to make it work.

Good luck to everyone else who's starting soon and I really hope Sky make the call to all those still waiting for Sky's sake. From what I've read on here in the last 6 months, there are a some very professional, hard workers they're missing out on.
